Fortune magazine featured Women in Virtual Reality in a story yesterday titled Meet the women shaping our virtual future.
The author, Susan Price, interviewed Women in Virtual Reality president Maria Korolov, founding member Nonny de la Pena, visual effects studio head Christine Cattano, and Elizabeth Baron, who heads up a virtual reality laboratory at Ford.
\”As with many segments of the tech industry, the field of virtual reality remains dominated by men,\” Price wrote.
But there was a positive side to being on the cutting edge of technology, she added.
\”Women in the field say that because virtual reality is such a fledgling industry, there’s no established glass ceiling or old boys network to contend with,\” she wrote. \”As the technology grows, they say they expect the VR opportunities to blossom—for all genders.\”
